A partnership between the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and the University Health System, University Transplant Center is a collaborative effort experienced, pioneering medical professionals. When you refer a patient to University Transplant Center, you become part of that team as we care for your patient together.

As your patient is evaluated, educated and prepared for transplant, you remain their primary physician. You will maintain your current treatment plan, augmented by the patient’s preparation for transplant. You will have direct contact with the patient’s Transplant Nurse Coordinator and Transplant Physician, and you are welcome to contact us at any time.

After transplant, we will continue working with the patient for three to six months. We will monitor and adjust immunosuppressant medications, and provide you with records and information about the patient’s post-transplant progress and care.
